Careers

Althea plans to assemble a focused technical team once funding is secured for the executable ARIS Runtime, the 20 formal validation tests, the executable ARIS-EC, and the ARIS-EC API.

The initial build phase is expected to run for approximately 18 months and center on a lean engineering group aligned to runtime development, testing, infrastructure, acceleration, and deployment.

This hiring direction follows the project’s documented plan for runtime implementation, API development, interface design, infrastructure, and formal validation.

Initial Technical Hiring Plan

Lead ARIS Runtime Engineer

Full Time · 18 Months

Lead development of the executable ARIS Runtime, including core runtime logic, deterministic processing flow, numerical methods, residual tracking, validation behavior, and support for the 20 formal validation tests.

Required skills:
Strong systems and algorithm engineering, scientific or numerical computing, experience with complex processing pipelines, debugging, and rigorous testing. Experience with C++ and Python is strongly preferred. Familiarity with performance optimization, simulation, and structured logging is highly valuable.

Backend / API Engineer

Full Time · 18 Months

Build the executable ARIS-EC service layer and ARIS-EC API, including backend architecture, integration pathways, state handling, job orchestration, authentication, and secure external connectivity.

Required skills:
Backend development, API design, service integration, database management, secure systems design, queues, observability, and production-grade reliability. Experience with REST or gRPC, Linux-based deployment, and scalable backend systems is preferred.

FPGA / Hardware Acceleration Engineer

Part Time · 18 Months

Support acceleration of key ARIS computational pathways, including bottleneck analysis, hardware-assisted optimization, and FPGA-based acceleration for selected runtime functions.

Required skills:
Experience with Verilog, VHDL, or high-level synthesis, FPGA optimization, hardware/software collaboration, data-path design, and performance profiling. Familiarity with compute-heavy technical systems is important.

DevOps / Infrastructure Engineer

Part Time · 18 Months

Build and maintain development, staging, and deployment environments for ARIS, ARIS-EC, and API delivery. Support CI/CD, monitoring, cloud or on-prem infrastructure, operational security, and reliable runtime deployment.

Required skills:
Linux systems, CI/CD, deployment automation, infrastructure management, monitoring, networking, and secure environment design. Experience supporting technical compute environments and API infrastructure is strongly preferred.

UI/UX / Technical Interface Engineer

Part Time · 18 Months

Design and implement the user-facing layer for runtime interaction, progress visualization, operator workflows, and output presentation. This role helps make complex technical behavior understandable and usable in real deployment contexts.

Required skills:
UI/UX design, frontend implementation, dashboard design, technical workflow design, and data visualization. Ability to present complex system outputs clearly and professionally is essential.

The initial funded build phase is intended to deliver four major outcomes:

The executable ARIS Runtime
The 20 formal validation tests
The executable ARIS-EC
The ARIS-EC API

The project documentation also specifies full diagnostics, step timing, symbolic and measurement-based testing, and human-readable output suitable for real-world engineering use.

This is expected to be a focused, high-responsibility technical build. The project combines advanced runtime architecture, structured testing, API deployment, and specialized compute requirements.

Early hires should be comfortable working in an interdisciplinary environment where engineering precision, documentation quality, and implementation discipline all matter.

These roles are planned positions to be opened when funding for the build phase is secured. Initial hiring is expected to support an 18-month development window focused on implementation, validation, and deployment readiness.
